-When I was in the USMC, I was aid to the General's Party 1969 at the Marine Corps Birthday celebration in Quantico, VA. At that time, I met General Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller (then Lieutenant General). It was a great honor!
-During the late 70s, I use to hang out at the Limelight Club in Atlanta, GA; it was an extravagant disco club, and I loved going there because I loved (and still love) to dance, especially disco dancing. Over time, I became friends with the owner and the manager, and through them, I met Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields and Dom DeLuise one evening in the elevator where they were trying to make a quick getaway. ;o) I also met Grace Jones there, and Tommy Roe (Sweet Little Sheila). Tommy Roe was dressed like Elvis and had moved into doing Elvis impersonations here and there, and I gave him grief because I told him he had enough talent to be himself, that he didn't need to pretend to be someone else. And from a distance across the dance floor at the Limelight, I've seen Anita Bryant, Rebecca DeMornay and Susan Sarandon - does that count. ;o)
-During the early 80s, I met and became friends with psychic Chip Coffey. I am still in touch with Chip and am blessed for his success.
-Just before I moved from Atlanta to Raleigh, I got to meet ex-Governor Lester Maddox. That too was a great honor for me. He got bad press during the freedom marches for kicking followers of Martin Luther King, Jr from his restaurant, but the truth was, his only views were that ladies should act like ladies, and gentlemen should act like gentlemen, and if they didn't - he'd kick them from his restaurant. These people came into his restaurant to use the facilities, and when the facilities became full and the wait became long, they started relieving themselves on the floor outside the restroom. That was when Lester and his staff kicked them out, and I don't blame him for that and got called a racist for doing it. Personally, I would have kicked them out for that too. But we never heard THAT side of the story when it happened when I was a young teen still living up north.
-Oh, and I sat on a plane next to Ted Turner once on a trip from NYC to Atlanta when he was owner of the Atlanta Braves. He was with a business partner discussing business, and we barely spoke.

How about you?

With love.

God bless.
