In the cold of winter, when you were a child, what kind of bedding kept you warm?

We had flannel sheets, feather ticks which our Grandmother made by hand and chenille bedspreads. If it got VERY cold, which it often did in NW PA, we had several woolen Army blankets that our dad brought home from the War. And to keep warm on VERY cold nights, we'd bundle more kids together in one bed. The most I remember having was 5, three across the top and two at the foot...that was toasty.

How about you?

God bless.
