I would say it's honesty!
Both Grandmothers repeatedly taught that you don't get something for nothing, there's always a price to be paid at some point, so you might as well pay when it's due, and that lies always catch up to you. I also remember our Mother telling me, when I was at a very young age, that I wasn't a good liar, so why bother; for some reason, even though I was very young, that clicked with me right at that point, and I worked hard at always telling the truth from then on. I still believe both very strongly, and my feet are firmly planted in being honest, regardless the personal cost.
