I bunked with our youngest sister. We had wallpaper. It was gray with a subtle silver basketweave pattern that formed large regular blocks, and within each block was a small basket filled with violets. I made long white linen curtains for the window and the closet door that I sewed by hand, and we had a purple quilted bedspread and purple throw rugs. We had a hardwood floor, I think it was cherry wood, and the furniture pieces were cherry too. It was a very pretty room considering we were very poor and most things were hand-me-downs or hand sewn!
