When I was a child, we spent Independence Days at family reunions in different locations. Then when I grew older, that changed to a picnic with the reunion changed to August 9th, our paternal Grandfather's birthday.
Today I went to work. We expected a hectic day, as most holidays are, but it was instead very quiet.
