RB'S QUESTION OF THE DAY: July 5, 2013: When you think back to an occasion where everything was perfect, or nearly so, the food, the company, the surroundings, etc., what was that occasion, that food and the surroundings?

I'm sure everyone has a lifetime of them, me included, but there is one that popped into my head when I first thought up this question.
When I was in the USMC and was stationed in KC MO, each year, we would go to a circular restaurant at the top of a hotel to celebrate Octoberfest. I don't remember the hotel's name, but the restaurant was called the Top of the Tower, and the night time view of the city lights from the restaurant's windows was gorgeous. The Top of the Tower had four restaurants, one in each of the circle's quadrants - one offered US American favorites, one offered Italian, one offered Oriental and one offered German foods; they all had appropriate names, I have no idea what they were. We'd eat at the German restaurant each October, and it had the most wonderful succulent food. I always ordered the roast chicken and gravy with hot German potato salad; the tang of the German potato salad accompanied the roast chicken wonderfully, and for dessert, I'd order Apple Strudel a la Mode. Yum!!!
I wonder if that place is still there, here some 33 years or so later.
God bless.
