A long time ago, I lived in Atlanta, GA and attended many concerts and live performances while there. One I recall was a Don McLean (American Pie) concert.
The "warm up guy" was Henny Youngman ("Take my wife...PLEASE!!!") His jokes were so awful and the audience so non-reactive that I felt sorry for him. The only thing I remember them laughing at was the "Take my wife" one. I used the time to go to the restroom, but I truly did feel sorry for him because he'd been around FOREVER, had been popular at one time and had sunk so low. Such is life, I guess - still sad!!!
