We were short candles following Hurricane Fran, but we aren't now. Also, I have several tap lights that I keep in the bathroom and the kitchen for emergencies. And we have solar lights at several places in the yard that we could bring in.
We use to store dozens of 3 litre bottles of water, but since we moved to the smaller house, we just don't have room, so we'd fill the tub and buy a bottle of bleach. And if we have to, we can go to the farm pond down the road for water for the beasties.
