I think the most beautiful place I've ever been (so far) was Fort Clinch in Fernandina Beach, FL. It's an old brick and coquina fort, and when we went which was decades ago, there was a big hole in one wall which took one to a beautiful private beach. We were two of the very few there, and it was great. We didn't want to leave there.
