When I see active military service members in uniform, I always thank them for their service, and when I see someone I can identify as a military Veteran due to a hat or jacket, etc., I thank them for their service too.
I always have a US flag on the one porch column, and a USMC flag on the other one. And on appropriate holidays like this one, I have a large projection of a US Flag on the side of my house facing the main highway nearby.
