Have you ever gone ice skating on a pond in the wintertime?
If yes, tell us about it.

This was so very long ago, but our aunt and uncle lived in a subdivision in a nicer section of town. When I was a young teen, an older couple who lived about two blocks away had a large shallow pond that froze in winter. He put large white lights through the trees to light it, made a plow out of boards to clear it off, put logs around the west side of it for us to sit on, and he'd build a large fire by the logs each Friday and Saturday night in the wintertime once the pond was frozen solid. I remember sometimes we'd take hot chocolate in Dad's thermos. It was so lovely, and we had such a great time burning off all that child energy right before bedtime. Then one of the children got hurt somehow, nothing serious that I knew of, but their parents raised cane even though they'd given him permission to be there, and the lights went out - never to be lit again. It was sad.

So you see, life hasn't changed all that much; there's always some who will try to blame others for something they should take responsibility for themselves.

Anyway, how about you?

God bless.
