RB'S QUESTION OF THE DAY: December 5, 2012: When do others in your area generally put up their Christmas decorations? When do you generally put up yours?? Describe some of yours.
When do others in your area generally put up their Christmas decorations?
When do you generally put up yours?? Describe some of yours.
Many put theirs up right before Thanksgiving; I'd get tired of them if we put them up that soon, so we put up ours generally the first weekend in December. This year we're a bit delayed because of our work schedule, but we'll catch up this coming weekend. They consist of a big lighted wreath hung on the front door, a big white lighted star over the center of the front porch entrance, red and white light strings wrapped around the porch posts so they look like candy canes, a lighted holographic wreath is hung from the side porch rail and there is a projected Christmas transparency that shines on the side of the house nearest the main road. This year I added giant ornaments from the shepherd's hooks in the front yard that the hummingbird feeders generally hang from. We took those down the middle of September as the hummers had migrated out of the area, so I decorate them with holiday appropriate decorations until the hummers return around next Easter.
