The Scott Motel use to have a coffee shop on the corner of 8th & Peninsula. Can't remember what it was called, but we all hung out there cause they had great burgers and shakes. The motel eventually complained about us, even though I don't remember anyone ever causing trouble there and we brought them plenty of regular business, but one day, they just bulldozed the place down to the ground. Then we hung out at the McDonald's about a block away; the burgers weren't near as good as that place's had been, but McDonald's was glad to have us.
